Strange problem in IE 6.0

A

alex abarms

I consider myself an IT professional but I've never come
across anything like this:
When I type Russian text into IE 6.0 text boxes instead of
Cyrillic characters I get something like 0054K??<7656. All
other applications work fine with Cyrillic letters. All
Russian websites are displayed correctly.

Would appreciate any help,
Alex

(Windows XP Home OEM, IE 6.0, UK + Russian keyboards, full
Russian language support)
