I have Windows XP Pro on an Intel Celeron 2.66GHz machine with 1Gb ram.
When I was running Windows XP Home I had no trouble with my scanner. Since
the upgrade to pro, I continually get the blue screen of death with the
following tech info.....
*** STOP: 0xC0000005, 0xF7D02C49, 0xEE1FAC98, 0x00000000)
*** fortigen.sys-address F7D02C49 base at F7D02000, Datestamp 45beaa8e
The message tells me....
1. I should check I have sufficient disk space.
I have plenty!
2. I should disable the driver shown in the STOP message or check for driver
updates.
I don't know how to disable that particular driver, but I did download the
latest driver for the scanner, but did not fix the problem.
3. Try changing video adaptors.
I don't know how to do that as it's onboard video but I did update the video
driver.
4. Check with hardware vendor for any BIOS updates.
How do I know what version I have and how do I find an upgrade and how do I
instal any upgrade?
5. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
I've been right through all the BIOS options and I don't see such options.
Can anyone help me with this problem.
