STOP Issue

Greg

I use Windows XP Pro.
When I try to set-up a home or small office network
the "Welcome to the Network Set-Up Wizard come up.
I click thru the wizard for creating a network using a
Residential Gateway. Once it starts to configure the
network. I keep getting the following error messege:

*** STOP: 0X000000C2 (0X00000007, 0X00000CD4, 0X021E0005,
0XFF8F1BE8)

I have a wireless Linksys router already set-up to split
out my cable broadband service to other computers
(laptops). However, I'm tring to configure a network
which I can use the one printer I have which is hooked up
to the main home desktop computer.

Can anyone tell me why I'm getting this error messege,
and how to fix it so I can complete the set-up of my home
network?

From MSDN: The Stop 0xC2 error message indicates that a kernel-mode process
or driver incorrectly attempted to perform a memory operation. This error
message is typically caused by a faulty device driver or software.

Try getting new drivers for you network adapter.

I updated my network adapter (Real RTL8139 Family PCI
Fast Ethernet NIC) with the very latest driver. However,
I'm still getting the same erro messege.

Do you have any other ideas?

Everything in the wizard can be done manually, but in your case you might
not have to do much. Can the machine access the internet?

Then you should be able to set up file sharing manually. Make sure the
machines are in the same workgroup.
