Hi, I am using Access 2003 and when ever I open a form and the user click on
a particular control, I pop a message telling the user that he or she cannot
click on this control.

The problem is, the computer beeps when the message comes up!

I tried to go in options of the office assistant, (The paper clip guy :))))
and unchecked the sounds check box. I also tried to abolish all sounds in
Windows control panel.

And nothing... I can't seem to shut my computer up from that anoying
beep!!!!!!

Can anyone help!

Not to answer your question, but: why do you want to pop-up a message
in that situation? Wouldn't it be better to set the Enabled property of
the control to False? That would give the user a visible indication
that the control can not be clicked at that time. Look up the Enabled
property in F1 help.

When you pop-up a message, you get the standard Windows dialog
functionality. If you include vbCritical or vbExclamation you will get the
defined Windows sound for these events. These can be controlled in the
Control Panel applet "Sounds and Audio Devices". This is the WinXP name for
the applet, it may be slightly different on other versions of Windows. I
believe the two sounds you want are "Asterisk" and "Exclamation".
