I have been having random problems with my new computer
running XP Professional installed by the manufaturer. I
just reinstalled XP from my disk (as an upgrade). The
computer gave me a blue screen error immediately after my
password log in when I rebooted.( STOP: 0x0000008E)
I talked to the manufacturer and checked Microsoft web
page for the cause of the error. I ran a diagnostic hard
disk drive utility supplied by the manufacturer -- no
problems found.
I just install all new memory (2GB) in the machine.
Again, as soon as I enter my password and enter, I get the
same blue screen error :
STOP: 0X0000008E(0XC0000005, 0X805298C9, 0XF7C754DC,
0X0000000)
0X0000008E(0XC0000005, 0X805298C9, 0XF7C814DC, 0X0000000)
0X0000008E(0XC0000005, 0X805298C9, 0XF7C7D4DC, 0X0000000)
Above are the three error messages I got upon three
reboots. The 4th set of numbers is different in the three
reboots. Other than memory problems, what else can be
causing this problem? Can you intrepret the above error
messages?
Please let me know how to to fix the problem.
Thanks.
