still unable to print

I tried everything that was suggested and I still can not print. I thought
that maybe it was my printer so I bought a new one HP PSC 1315v all- in-one
even after I install it I still get the following message:

Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup.

Try one or more of the following:
*check the printer by printing a test page from Windows.
*Make sure the printer is turned on and online.
*reinstall the printer driver.

I have done all this and still no printing. Am I going to have to uninstall
XP and then reload it?

Gary - Since you didn't tell us what exactly was suggested and what you
tried (and since you didn't keep your posts in one thread and left off
any references), there is no way of knowing what you've done. The
all-in-ones are usb printers, so there is no need for you to check in
the BIOS. You're not going to get any help by doing that.

Do any other usb devices work in those usb ports?
Did you uninstall the old printer?
Did you install the printer software *before* connecting the printer?
Did your printer(s) ever work? If so, what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?
Do you an an OEM computer (HP, Sony, eMachines)?
What Service Pack level is your XP? Home or Pro?
Is the machine 100% spyware and virus-free? If you think so, what did
you do to determine this?
