Still trying to work out remote desktop thru internet (sorry for the duplicate posts)

First off, I would like to apologize for posting the same question three
times. I originally posted through the USENET web based posting system and
things weren't working right. I am now at home and hopefully things will
work right.

OK, here goes.

My home computer is the host. My work computer is the client. I am trying
to RD my home computer from a computer at work.

Host computer:
Win XP Pro SP2 with all the latest updates, patches, hotfixes, coldfixes and
lukewarm fixes installed.
A NetGear wireless router
A fairly clean XP Pro install. Just the updates and MS Office 2003 and a
couple of video codecs are installed.
Internet connection is through cable broadband and has always connected to
the internet without problems.
I created a user account with a password just for the purpose of connecting
to this PC remotely.

Client computer:
Win XP Pro SP2 with all the latest updates, patches, hotfixes, coldfixes and
lukewarm fixes.
Internet connection is through proxy. I don't know much about the proxy or
how things are routed to/from my work PC. Work computer connects to the
Internet fine.
Internet connection is T1 (I think).

All I want to do is connect to my home PC from time to time to manage my
personal projects from work. I am sometimes left with a lot of time on my
hands at work but I am here for long hours.

I have setup the host computer as stated in this tutorial:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/northrup_03may16.mspx

Here is what happens when I try to connect.

I open MS IE and in the address bar type: http://ipaddress:port/tsweb
The Remote Desktop Web Connection window opens. According to the above
tutorial, I do not need to enter anything here just click connect. I do
this and then, after several seconds, get the following error.

VBScript: Remote Desktop Disconnected

The client could not connect to the remote computer. Remote connections
might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept new
connections. It is also possible that network problems are preventing your
connection. Please try connecting again later. If the problem continues to
occur, contact your administrator.

Here is what I have tried to trouble shoot. At first I thought my router
wasn't forwarding the ports like it should so I removed the router. No
Good. Then I put the router back and shut down the Windows firewall. No
Good. Then I removed the router and windows firewall. No good. I have no
other firewalls or security software running (as stated above, this is a new
Win XP install). Then I thought maybe the work computer wasn't getting out
thorough the proxy or was being blocked by some type of config. implemented
by MIS.

So I called a friend. She is running Win XP Home on a dial-up. She is not
a power user but I talked her through it. When she entered the:
http://ipaddress:port/tsweb in her MS browser she got the prompt to install
Remote Desktop ActiveX control and chose Yes. After it installed she got
the same VBScript error that I always get.

What is it that I am missing? Are there additional settings/configs that I
am unaware of? I have been to other tutorials (mostly through.
microsoft.com) and still can't get this to work. In case anybody is
wondering if I had it working prior to my fresh Win XP install, the answer
is no. I have only been trying for a couple of days now.

Thanks,

-Lydokane-
