David
I have just installed XP Pro over XP Home it all works
fine except the screen is stuck
at 640x480.
I have been into Display Properties and the slider won't
move form 640x480 - the colour is stuck at Medium
(16bit). I've followed the advice that you get when you
click on the troubleshooting button and that is no good.
When I click on <advanced> and then the monitor tab - it
says <Default monitor> but the <properties> button is
greyed out so I can't change the monitor settings.
I posted a message earlier today and was advised I needed
to install a driver for my video card. As suggested I
went into device manager>display adaptor properties where
it said that I have <Intel(R) 82865G graphics
controller> I assume this is the video card driver. When
I clicked on update driver it told me it was the most up
to date version installed already -I've tried downloading
the same driver from the Dell site to make sure it is the
latest version. Now what? TIA David
