Steal this O.S.

Actually I would think that the marketing department at MS would have at
least minor interest in the opinion of one of customers.
My point is that the pricing of Vista encourages piracy. My opinion was
always that if MS would lower their prices, there would be less piracy.
And
they significantly increased the cost with very little value added.

Imagine Mom&Pop computer shops. It was already tilted incredibly in the
favor of the large OEMs in that the cost of a single license of XP was so
expensive. With Vista, appears that they are going to increase that
tilt.

Imagine offering compasionate concern to a BRATS tanturm?
My point is that the pricing of Vista encourages piracy.

Good lord, what encourages piracy is the desire to steal.
This arguement has evolved from the liberal attempt to kill responsibility.
Where only the biggest checkbook is responsible.

Lower their prices?
Well damn, if BMW would jus tlower thier sticker prices there woudl be less
carjackings?

XP is so expensive?
how so?

Then why are there people in this newsgroup complaining about the price of
Vista?
list the prices of each version of XP
then the prices of each version of Vista
we'll average XP price list
then Vista's price list

then take a mulligan on 1.
2. Almost 1 million copies of Vista have been sold

Oh brother, I wonder why that is?
3. Vista is selling "quicker" then XP
see the answer to 2.

Because they're ignorant imbeciles! As well as cheap bastards who are too
poor to afford Ultimate.

XP Home - $199
Windows Vista Home Basic - $199
SAME PRICE

XP Pro - $299
Windows Vista Business - $299
SAME PRICE

Since MCE is OEM only:
OEM XP MCE - $149.99 (based on original release pricing)
OEM Windows Vista Home Premium - $119.99 (Not sure what the retail pricing
is however out of the gate it can be purchased for this)
CHEAPER

XP Home Upgrade - $99
Windows Vista Home Basic Upgrade: $99
SAME PRICE

XP Pro Upgrade - $199
Windows Vista Business Upgrade: $199
SAME PRICE

Ok, so only on one front is it cheaper. However, no one can state it being
MORE expensive then XP. Not in any case is that true.

we'll average XP price list
then Vista's price list
We'll average NOTHING. Just because MS offers a package with extra bells
and whistles does not negate the rest of the price structure. If you
(speaking to anyone) can't afford Ultimate then cry for a little bit, read a
book and move up a little in life. Ultimate is not the end all, be all of
using Windows. It is not a requirement nor a direct replacement for either
Home or Pro version of XP.

You won what? You asked a question. You can't win from asking a question.

Going one step further, Vista can be obtained cheaper then XP from online
stores. I don't remember anyone straying from the retail price of XP for a
long time. But I don't remember "for sure".
