Status OXC0000225 Windows failed to load

Since installing Vista Business, I have had endless problems such as
windows freeze and reboot failure.
The error message: "Status OXC0000225 Windows failed to load because the
firmware (BIOS) is not ACPI compatible."
The Vista experience for me has been a hit and miss affair,
If I can reboot without so much of hassle, maybe I will understand what all
this WOW experience is about ?????

Furthermore, I am terribly disappointed that a number of applications just
refuse to work in Vista,
eg. WinfastTV2000Expert, Pinnacle Sudio 10 plus, Office 2003, Outlook ... ;
even my external harddisk is causing Vista to freeze if I forgot to turn it
on before booting.

WOW!!!
I should have done more homework before jumping in!

My PC data:
MOB Asus P5N32-SLI Deluxe
Ram - 2 x 512 mb
3 x H/disk (total ~900 Gigbyte)
Windows Vista Business
Hope someone has a solution for this; otherwise, I am forced to revert to
Windows XP or Lunix.
