I have a ScanSnap s510, and I'm not impressed with their software.

When I press the green buttom, I would like my FineReader 9.0 to
start, instead of scansnap software. Can this be done?

Thank you for answering.

Yes it can be done.
Depends on the software that is activated when you press the Green Button.

4.2 Changing Scanning Settings
On page 67 and 68 of the above PDF says you can change the application that
is called when you press the "Green Button" Scan button.

Thank you, this is great help toward getting what I want.

I've modified the scansnap manager so that it will start
Finereader.exe. However, when the green button was pressed,
FineReader complained about the name of the file is not a folder.
Apparently fineReader was started from the command line with the
scanned file as an argument. It looks like FineReader expects the
name of a folder, not a file name, as input argument.

I think I might have 2 alternatives, but I'm not sure how either of
them can be done.

My 1st alternative:

Get FineReader to accept a filename as an input argument, not a folder
name.

My 2nd alternative:

Get ScanSnap manager to accept an .exe that is equivalent of
"fineReader.exe c:\my documents\scansnap folder". I have created
a .bat for this, but don't know how to turn it into .exe, since
scansnap can only takes .exe as input.

I am not familiar with Fine Reader, It should accept a file name on the
command line.

The manual for fujitsu has more info on pages 71-74 Applications Settings
button.
