And appearently David doesn't either and he's about thirty times
smarter than I am.

Did you get your printer shared?

I don't know much about networking, but it seems odd to me that you have 50
computers and no network printer.

I just tried it. I had to reboot twice because I wanted to see the message
again before I did away with it. You have to click the OK button. Slows
down my bootup.

Interactive Logon: Message title for users attempting to logon
and
Interactive Logon: Message text for users attempting to logon

It works for me. I saw the message text and title. And I had to click
the OK button to continue booting to my Desktop.

I still have no idea what you did. :-(

To create a new user you have to:
Computer Management\System Tools\Local Users and Groups\Users
Or
Console1\Console Root\\Local Users and Groups\Users
Or
Start | Settings | Control Panel | User Accounts

[[A user name cannot be identical to any other user or group name on
the computer being administered.]]

To create a new user you have to right click Users | Create New User
| Fill in the blanks | Create button | Close button
Or
Highlight Users | Action | New Users | Create New User |
Fill in the blanks
Create button | Close button

This is *not* a one click mistake.
It takes too many steps.
There cannot be two shaz accounts.

I suggest that you look at System Restore.

BIG StUfF up!!! I tried doing what you suggested, but it
went horribly wrong! I am not sure what I did wrong, but
followed your procedure....that is when my new user was
created! I don't know how it is related either, but as
soon as I tried what you suggested, I rebooted and a new
account was activated...the reason I know this, is that it
automatically went into this new account! It had
different wallpaper and not all my usual desktop icons
were there!

The new users name was shaz, the old users name was shaz
too! I don't know how that is possible, but that is what
it was!

I have not downloaded any windows updates, since loading
my machine in January!

The ASP.NET accounts are both Shaz....still not sure how
this is possible, but it happened!!

Now I have stuffed up totally and deleted the wrong Shaz,
which has had rippling effects...in that now no one can
print, as my machine has the priner on it....any ideas
with that??!!

I tried the bit in interactive logon...but that did some
very strange thing...no message came up, but what it did
was created a new user...have no idea how or why that
happened....I am the administrator, so surely it should
have worked when logged in under my name? It clearly
didn't bring up the test message, and just created a new
user.....any ideas here?

One of our clients want to customize all their staff
logon screens, to display a disclaimer. However, I have
tried the following....

In Regedit
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop

Then changing the "wallpaper" to the disclaimer saved
document, this works, however it goes past so quickly
that it is not humanly possible to read it. Is there
anyway of slowing it down, or having a force logon, with
this disclaimer visible??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
