i had a virus that i managed to get rid of, a symptomof the virus was a file
called nail.exe in C:/ windows
evry time i start up the log in i get the message windows cannot find the
file nail.exe
does anyone know how to stop the system looking for this file

N

none

Click start/run, type regedit, click ok

Search for 'nail.exe' and delete any references to it.

Backup your registry first, just in case ....

I also had a virus, Norton says its called Trojan.cachecache.kit. Norton
window pops up on boot-up and says Norton has detected and removed a virus
from my computer. Unfortunately, Norton has fixed the effects of the virus
because 1) the Norton window cannot be closed; 2) I get the same nail.exe
popup window as the previous poster, BUT (and it's a big but), when I go into
Run>Regedit, the regedit window pops up and then disappears, so I cannot
clean the registry. Any idea what else I can do short of reformatting?
