What ASANGA wrote is true, if you understand it. If your taskbar is in
'Auto-Hide', your start menu/taskbar will hide below the bottom of your
screen. If moving your mouse to the bottom doesn't fix it, move your mouse to
the bottom and see if the cursor changes from a diagonal arrow, (normal,) to
a doublesided up and down arrow. If so, that means your taskbar is set too
low to pop up. While your double-sided arrow is showing at the bottom, push
and hold your left mouse button and drag the arrow up which will make your
taskbar taller. Let go of the button when it is at a height that you like.
Then, if you don't want the taskbar to automatically disappear when you move
the mouse off of it, right click on the taskbar and go to properties. There
you will see a variety of items you can change like "Auto-Hide the taskbar"
and "Hide Inactive Icons". You should also not lock the taskbar so that you
can change it when you want. The choice is yours.
Hope that helps. If not, post a reply and let us know what it's still doing
when you try that.
