Start issues in Windows 2000

HI,

I have windows 2000 professional installed in my computer, I have some
startup problems with it. After entering my username and password at the
login screen, windows takes more than 2 to 3 minutes to load the Desktop
icons and the wall papers. I think this is not normal as earlier the Desktop
wallpaper and icons loaded quickly. I know the first thought would go to the
startup items, however I have checked it using utilities, there are no
startup items loadiing. What can be the reason for this ?

What start up utilities?
You have no AV app, no Firewall? this being the case I hope the sys is not
connected to the internet.

What happens if you boot in safe mode?

Did you apply Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 SP4?
