Standard Dialogues

Hi,

I've developed an issue in the past few weeks where some standard windows
dialogues boxes appear but are empty of text. A typical is the directory list
exposed using search companion when you click 'look in' then browser. The
issue so far seems related to this specific dialogue which fails in all
applications that use it. It's coded by...

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb762115(VS.85).aspx

I've loaded IE8b1 during this time. And after this issue came up XP SP3
hoping that might resolve it.

I've run sfc /scannow
Scanned disks
Checked memory
Done processor tests

Look at files shell32.dll and comdlg32.dll for consistency.

I'm stuffed if I can find an error that might cause this. And it seems to be
very specific to this dialogue and isn't effecting any out windows dialogues
that I have noticed yet.

Any clues?

Two things to try:

- Change the color of the text in dialog boxes.
- Transparent drop-down Menu and disappearing menu text -

It's not text colour but it may well be connected to...

The transparency may also be the result of the software which accompanied
with your Graphics card (for example.. NVidia - NVidia Desktop Manager)

Although which setting I'm not sure.
