Spyware support needed! Doesn't find everything

Dear Microsoft staff,

In an effort to help you improve your new Spyware
product "AntiSpyware beta1, you should know it is not
uncovering all spyware. When running the AntiSpyware
beta1system scan the following results were reported:

<PIX DOESN'T DISPLAY>

After I ran MS AntiSpyware beta1, I immediately ran
(without opening or using MS internet explorer) Spybot and
the following results were yielded:

<PIX DOESN'T DISPLAY>

I am running the most current (including all recommended
patches) version if Internet Explorer. Additionally, I
have installed all recommended service
packs/patches/updates to my Windows2000 Pro Operating
System.

Another problem I am running into.is the inability to
remove an application (calls itself Explorer Assiatant)
Note the mis-spelling - that aggressively self installed
itself. I have tried searching for program to manually
remove, and used the typical uninstall option from
windows2000 control panel. I could not find the program,
nor remove it. It is very important to note that when I
attempt to remove program from control panel a popup
window stating "the program has been successfully removed"
appears. At about the same time, MS AntiSpyware beta1
reports that my internet home page is being changed to
alternate URL's such as "Blank," Google," or some search
engine. AntiSpyware beta1 asked if I would like to accept
or block change - I click BLOCK. BTW: the block function
does not work as the hijacked home page still changes to
hijacked page.

I hope this is helpful in improving MS AntiSpyware beta1.
At the same time any help that you could provide in the
removal of this spyware program is appreciated.

Hi Steve,

Try running the scan from Safe Mode (F8), and dump the Temporary files, and
Temporary Internet Files. Some of the BHO's are quite sophisticated. Have
you tried opening IE--->Tools--->Manage Add-ons and disabling suspicious
BHO's?
