Spyware locking up computer

I am unable to run a complete scan with antispyware beta.
The computer freezes up completely. It always says that
several threats have been found, but I have never finished
the scan to take action against the threats.

try running a scan in safe mode, hold F8 by start up computer.

Page, choose scan options > Full System Scan (check boxes below) > click
"Run Scan Now".
