spyware detection

I have been using MAS and it seems to be working fine.
I used to receive a DAX error every time I use a
fonctinality in my computer. Now the error is gone and the
computer performance is much better.
however when I run another anti-spyware (symantec's)
Syamntec tells me that it has detected spywares (i seem to
have 11 spywares)
I am planning on running another spyware detector but I do
not know what to choose since I am afraid that there might
be some pseudo antispyware companies.
Does anyone know of a reliable and trustable anti-spyware?

Choose one of these two or both. Adaware and/or Spybot
No1 and No5 from download.com. As you can see
its a large number downloaded. Both have good reputation.
