Spyware/adware problem and Windowsupdate

Patrick Hunter

I've got a persistent problem with a popup ad that I
cannot get rid of and was wondering if somebody could
give me some clues. These popup ads appear at random on
certain sites, but the one site that is always consistent
is the Windows Update site. Whenever I go there, I get a
popup for some site selling Kazaa Premium
(www.kpremium.com). I have used three different
spyware/adware tools and searched the machine files and
the registry for hours and I cannot find where this thing
is coming from. Is there anyway to see what browser
helpers IE is using? Also, has anybody else run into
this? This is one the most persistant irritations I've
ever seen. TIA

go to iconlabs.net and try SIP (surf in peace)
It is a small program which is un-noticeable and you can
set it to stop specific pop-ups you tell it to. it is
simple to set up as well.
