Splash Scrteen Stalls

I have a commomn issue when I am installing my printing software on my XP
Professional machine. Each time I load my CD and install a prinintg software,
the splash screen stalls and the operation will not proceed. I am not sure if
this would have anything to do with SP2 , but it is very frustrating. I have
tried to install it form each location: CMD prompt, RUN , the CD, etc...and
the same issue keeps developing where it stalls out at the SPlash Screen.

Is this an issue with XP Pro? Or am I misisng the boat on something here??

If someone could offer some advice, I would be grateful.

Hello , I have major issues [after each Complete Restore] with installing the
Driver for my Wireless Printer . And I never forget to disable Anti Virus ,
Anti Spyware , and Software Firewall prorection . Always leave the Hardware
Firewall Enabled . Which my choice for Hardware Firewall is by a Router . I
always [run in Safe Mode] run scans before loading any Drivers , softwares
etc. .--
