Many thanks; this worked a treat! The solutions above, which involve downloading a program called RegCure look decidedly dodgy.

I JUST got this computer and am just getting used to it. Even tho I have
checked "play sound when messege arrives" it doesn't. I want that sound !
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance... Joni

This worked like a charm and and spell check is working!!!! Thank you

Go to tools=opitions=spell tab=change from englesh to French then back to
englesh
see I need spell check. this is listed by somebody else on the list.
