Special Icon to Standard toolbar

J

Juhani Vainio

I'm intrested in to make special Icon to Standard toolbar.

I have made own template "My_Own.dot". Now I want to make a special
Icon in the Standard toolbar, that opens a new file based on my own
template, not normal.dot.

I want to make Icon "white document with some red dots" to make a
little diffference with the "New" based on normal.dot

How to make that?

The usual way to handle custom Templates is to place them in the users
template folder. Assuming you have a standalone computer, instll them in
Documents and Settings, Username, Application Data, Microsoft, Templates
(where you will also find your normal.dot already located). Now to open the
template, use File, New and double-click on the template icon. If you want
to make this a little quicker, I always place the FileNewDefault on the
toolbar: this opens the New Dialog listing all your templates. Note that
this is listed under AllCommands and not logically under File: even
stranger, when you drop it on your Toolbar, it changes its name to 'Other'.

Terry has answered the question you should have asked, and I advise you to
follow his advice. As for the question you did ask here's how (for future
reference):

Assuming you have already created the toolbar button and it has no button
face or the standard macro icon, proceed as follows:

1. Open Tools | Customize.

2. Right-click on the New button and choose Copy Button Image.

3. Right-click on your custom button and choose Paste Button Image.

4. Right-click again and choose Edit Button Image. This opens the Button
Editor, where you can add your red dots.

2. Right-click on the New button and choose Copy Button Image.
3. Right-click on your custom button and choose Paste Button Image.

Suzanne, you are a Demon. How is it possible that you can find just
the right answers to my incoherent question?
