Word New Documents

When using Word 2000 premium, I'm trying to customize the
standard toolbar. What I'd like to happen is when you
click the "New blank Document" icon, a new document
appears based on a template other than Normal.dot.

Is this possible? Is so, how?

Thank you!

Record a macro creating such a new document.
Put that macro on your toolbar using the Tools > Customize dialog.
While that dialog is open, copy the icon from the new file button to your
macro button.
While that dialog is open, right-click on your button and change the display
to default.
While that dialog is open, right-click on your button and edit the button
image to a different color so you don't confuse the two.
Close the dialog.

Hi Marcia,

Record a macro that creates a new document based on the
template you want to use.

Assign the macro to a toolbar button, and use the Copy
Button Image and Paste Button Image commands to transfer the
picture to the button for your macro. (Use
Tools/Customize/Commands, and right-click the buttons to get
these comamands)

Check out the "WORD home page"
I think they have your question exactly with the "help"
steps.

Good answers were posted in this thread earlier and Marcia received them
before your post. However, what is the "Word home page?"
