[SPAM] inserted in my email subject line?

I do not know what filter I have installed that keeps inserting the exact
typing of [SPAM] into the subject line of my incoming email messages. It
does not seem to work with the Junk Email Filter, because even if the person
is a safe sender, the message is still marked [SPAM] at the beginning of
their subject line.

Very confusing, I have to delete it before I respond!

Help?!

It's probably your mail server doing it. My ISP does that and it helps in
filtering with the Rules Wizard. I've created a rule that moves any message
with that flag into the Junk Mail folder. I have it as my last rule so that
all the other mail items get sorted first.

Check with your provider if the flag is causing you issues

I turned off the spam filters with my cable provider and through Options in
Microsoft Outlook, and some of my email messages still come through with the
insertation of [SPAM] at the beginning of the subject line. They are not
even the ones moved into the Junk folder!
