Spam Filter

My e-mail is on Yahoo. When I'm away from home and I access my mail account
through IE on the web site, the spam is segregated into its own folder with
probably 99% accuracy. But when I download it to Outlook on my home computer,
at least 50% of the spam that was previously segregated ends up in my inbox
instead of in my Junk E-mail folder.

How can I get Outlook to either (A) be as smart as Yahoo or (B) trust
Yahoo's spam filter and put everything Yahoo identified as spam into my Junk
E-mail folder? In order to keep from cluttering up my inbox, I need to visit
Yahoo on IE, delete the spam, and then download my mail to Outlook.

I'm using Office 2003 (still) and XP Professional.

Thanks.

So, change the Yahoo POP & forwarding options so that it doesn't treat your
Yahoo spam folder as part of your Inbox. In the upper corner of your Yahoo
mail (log in using IE), click Options>Mail Options. Click the "POP &
Forwarding" option, then "Set up or edit POP & Forwarding". Check the radio
button labeled "I don't want to receive any messages that SpamGuard thinks are
spam." Click Save, close that window, then click "Back to Mail".

You can't "trust" your Yahoo spam filter. You can only tell Yahoo not to
deliver its spam message to your Outlook Inbox.
