SPAM added to subject line

Spam is being added to the subject line of all my outgoing emails. I have
contacted my ISP (Charter) and they said it is Outlook. How can I get that
to stop??

Outlook doesn't change subject lines.

Add-in's might.

Assuming you see the word added to your Subject line in the Sent Items folder,
exit out of Outlook. Make sure it's not running in Task Manager's processes
tab and start it from Start - Run with outlook /safe and try and reproduce
the problem.

If you can't reproduce the problem then, take a look at what add-ins you
have installed and start getting rid of them.

They lied to you. Outlook cannot do that. Either it is being added on the
server side or you have an antispam add-in doing it. You can test this by
logging into your mailbox on the server with a web browser. If the message
has the added string there, then clearly it is being added long before Outlook
sees it.

Brian -- you seem to know a ton about outlook. A followup to the original
query:
My website server is set to forward to my outlook acct. I am getting email
forward with SPAM in the subject line. Clearly, it has been identified by my
server as spam but is still coming thru to me. I even added an Outlook filter
to junk mail any mail with SPAM in the subj line but this doesnt seem to
help. Does it matter than the SPAM desgination is preceded by ***? Is there
any way I can just make outlook put it in junk insted of in my in box?

Thanks!

Blush! There are quite a few who know more than I.

I suspect this is being added by your current mail server. If you want to
move it to your Junk E-mail folder, create a rule that looks for "SPAM" in the
subject (the "with the specified words in the subject" condition), moves the
message to the folder "Junk E-mail", and stops processing more rules. Make it
the first rule.

Brian--

It definitely IS being added by the current mail server (who is forwarding
to my Outlook act.) But I DID add a rule about SPAM in the title. It is,
indeed , going to my junk mail folder, but is also showing up in my inbox at
the same time.

I will doublecheck to be sure it is the FIRST rule as you specify, but I
believe I only have one....
Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks again.

This is usually because you have not included the "stop processing more rules"
action and you have more than one rule.
