SP4 drop secondary master drive

[SP4 can't access secondary master drive]

When I went from SP3 to SP4 my secondary master and my
secondary slave drive became inaccessible. Explorer
listed the drive letters, but when I expand the drive
letter the system wants to format the drive.

Seeing how it was a slow weekend, I freshly reloaded W2K
Pro and tah-dah, everything worked fine and the drives
were accessible. Downloaded SP4 and the drives became
inaccessible again.

Obviously not very impressed with SP4 thus far!

Any work-arounds short of staying off of SP4?

Is this an onboard Promise contoller? If so you might try updating the
drivers from their site. If not maybe you could provide some additional
details on the chipset you are seeing this on.
