SP3 Continuous Reboot Solution

O/S Win 2000 SP2
Intel Based System

If you are having a continuous reboot problem after installing sp3 there is
a workaround solution. Please visit the following KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888372. If this does not work I suggest the
following procedure that has worked for me, Let “Automatic Update†perform
the installation. Run the setup from the download location. After
installation, the Startup reg. key will be set to 1. If you are running a
platform other than an Intel based system then you may have to set the reg.
Key to 4 prior to installation. FYI reminder: reboot the pc after any reg.
changes.

WARNING!!!! If you do not know how to edit the registry have someone help
you. You can cause some serious problems if you do not know what you are
doing. Reference the “How to back up your registryâ€, in Help and Support.
