SP2 WORKS!

K

Kevin S.

The upgrade to Service Pack 2 works (besides the fact my computer is 3x
slower now and Windows complains about security). It says I don't need to
defragment.

Just wondering... did anybody else's boot screen change? It used to say
Windows XP Home Edition, but now it just says Windows XP and the progress
bar is blue.

Thanks for the help in the other posts.

The Startup screen change is by design.

As for slowness, have you run a Disk Cleanup?

The startup screen change is normal with SP2 installed. Because of
the increased number of XP versions (there are now 4) it was decided
to use a single common startup screen for all of them. Your correct
Windows version will still be reported in My Computer - Propertes;
Control Panel - System - General; or Start - Run - WINVER.
