My previous post of a few days ago seem to have never gotten posted. Had a
glitch on my system.
Anyway, I have installed SP2 on my XP Pro laptop. I have disabled the
built-in firewall because the two computers are in a home network protected
by a firewall on a third device that sits between the home network and the
cable modem. Therefore there is no built-in firewall active (nor any 3rd
party software firewall for that matter).
The problem is I get this annoying balloon on the system tray warning me
that there is no firewall active on the computer. The "security center" has
absolutely no option to let the user say "I know what I am doing" or "I have
a firewall somewhere else". It seems like an omission in the Security Center
implementation, and a very annoying one to say the least. I don't want to
deploy SP2 on the other PC until I know how to get rid of the warning.
Thx,
E.
