SP2 Disables Policy Application

See text of error below. This is a policy I have had working for eight
months before SP2. The result is that IE Security Zones and Privacy
settings -- including Trusted sites -- are not getting applied (although
access to the tools/Internet Options tab access IE configuration settings
are, so I know the policy is trying to be applied -- gpresults indicates the
same). I heard that was an isuse with XP SP2 where the user's application
data files were being redirected (as in my case). Any news on a fix for this?

1091 Event Error Text: The Group Policy client-side extension Internet
Explorer
Branding failed to log RSOP (Resultant Set of Policy) data. Please look for
any errors reported earlier by that extension.

The only thing I could find is this:

The last reply in the thread gives a few clues to the best way to
troubleshoot this.

Since that link didn't resolve your, how abou this one?
Event ID 1091 and Event ID 1085 Appear in the Application Event Log
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q823608/
(or had you found that one already?)

I saw that, but I decided it was unrelated because we're talking about a
WinXP SP2 client machine's IE settings rather than a W2k and 2K3 server
fighting over IPSec settings.

Thanks guys. I did see both of these posts before posting here. On the
TechRepublic site, one person inferred this was a known issue (at least some
of the symptoms). If this is the case, I will call Microsoft and assume they
will not charge...I'll ask first.

Let us know what happens, preferably here so Google archives it. It sounds
like the sort of thing that could potentially affect a lot of people.
