I just installed sp2. The "Security Center" says the status of Norton
anti-virus is unknown but Norton autoprotect and all that is enabled. What
do i do to make the security center acknowledge this?

If you have a current version of Norton, go to the web page and upgrade. If
you have an older version. wait, and they will eventually have a fix for it.

Get the latest version of Norton - if they still haven't updated it yet to
work with Control Center yet give em a kick in the right direction.

Security Center is more of a "Nag" or alert function for users that
have no Anti-Virus or Firewall. If your system is covered in both
areas you can change SC settings to not monitor either.
If you prefer to not have Security Center running at all, you can
disable the Service by invoking Services.Msc from the run box,
and set the start mode to Disabled.

Upgrade to NAV2005 after installing Net 1.1 and Net 1.1 Sp1.

or

If runing Nav2004 run liveupdate 2 times in a row.
1. current virus files download, 2. new drv for WMI.

or If running Nav2003 or Nav2002, open Security Center, click on suggestions
under AV. On screen that pops up tell it that you will monitor the AV. OK
out and the Security center will disapper.

There is now a live update to Norton 2004 that gets it to report status
to Security Center. But as long as you make your own checks that it is
up to date I would not worry too much
