sp2 and antivirus software

steve

I have installed SP2 on my home PC without any obvious
problems. However, Security Centre fails to spot my
Norton's Antivirus 2002.

However, on my work laptop, with a more up-to-date
Symantec product, Security Centre does recognise it and
marks it as active.

Can anyone tell me if Symantec are going to release an
update for older versions of Norton's Antivirus, or will
I have to put up with Securty Centre not monitoring it?

Thanks

Steve

No harm meant Steve because there are a lot of old timers stuck on Norton but
if you dump it and use PC Cillin you should have no problems. Let me guess
Norton was on your new pc when you bought it? Why? Because they practiclly
give Norton away which should tell you something. Plus it is not really
automatic on the updates and this PC Cillin is. I have been using it for
years and was running it with the Beta SP2 without a gliche even with their
firewall in place. Norton is not all that! yes I have tried it and McAfee and
Panda and several others over the years and would never go back. I even gave
up ZoneAlarm because of the firewall in PC Cillin. It has found virus Norton
breezed right by.
