sp-2 and what it has done to my system

First I had no problem installing sp-2 all the problems started after. I lost
my network settings and all internet connections. I called my ISP to correct
the problem they informed me I was not the first and to reinstall my network
so I did and that was easy enough....right. Ok now I notice a extremely slow
bootup. From reading the post on this I turned off my antivirus auto update
and now update that manually every day. Still no change. I have no other
startup programs other than Panda Platinum Internet Security and Spybot. well
I suppose I can live with a 5 minute boot time. Now from time to time I get a
virtual memory to low I have never got this message before sp2 or the
bluscreen of death BAD_POOL_CALLER tech info stop
0x000000c2(0x00000007,0x00000cd4,0xd48fcbea,0xe2367008) I am starting to get
worried. The final concern is this new error message after bootup telling me
PAVFNSVR.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. If you can help
with one or more of these issues I would be grateful.

I had the same problem - my ISp provider also told me it
was the SP2 that caused the problem - I recovered by
performing a system restore from the day before putting
the pack on and everything is fine. You could try that it
may also help restore the performance to back the way it
was.

Good Look

My system has not been infected with anything I have checked and re-checked.
No hijackers or known virus present. Defrag weekly just a five minute boot is
a bit long. Befor sp-2 with same setup was 30-35 second boot time.

well the ongoing errors and saga continues. i uninstalled panda and the
result was a 45 sec. boot time. i have sent the errors and the result to
panda hopefully they will make a patch to fix this. i dont understand what
sp-2 and panda conflict about. befor sp-2 panda booted fine 1min30sec. i
re-installed panda and my boot times are back in the 5min range. the
re-install did eliminate the errors i was having befor. this is really odd. i
do not use the cd-rom often but i tried recently and it never reads from the
disk. if i want to use a cd i have to bootup with the cd in the tray or the
system hangs trying to access it. i dont know if this is sp-2 or do i have
something really happening here. i have never had any issues with my system
befor.
