Sound Problem

Harold

I'm having a problem with sound and speakers. Lately, for no reason that I
can find, the speakers mute themselves. I have to go into the speaker
control panel / play control and uncheck the mute box in the Wave/DirectSc
box.

What's up with this?

Are you switching between audio programs (between Windows Media Player and
Realplayer, for example ?). If your "default" player is WMP, and you switch
to another player and it has its own mixer, the "default" mixer gets
"muted".
Suggest standardise on one player and stick with it - worked for me, with
same prob !
Hope this helps - LEN

Len,

Hmmm. This may be it. I seem to recall that I updated my RealPlayer. Maybe
it automatically set itself as the default player?

Thanks.

For PLAYING, I uncheck all - thus sound files from any source are playable.
If you are using RECORD function, select only the appropriate sound source.
