Anybody find a workaround for Sonic MyDVD which doesn't work when SP2 2149
is applied? If I uninstall the patch and go back to SP1, software works
fine.

No problems with Sonic MyDVD and SP2 RC2. What version of Sonic are you
running? Have you updated the Sonic from their website?

I have the latest version: 5.3, tried again after reinstalling XP from
scratch. Still hangs on loading with SP2, works fine when I uninstall it
and go back to SP1.

I have Sonic MyDVD 5.3 on my rig, which started with SP2 RC1, was upgraded
to SP2 RC2, and then upgraded to the final release. MyDVD works flawlessly
here. No problems whatsoever. I would suspect your video card drivers and
possibly a conflict with DirectX 9.0c
