Sonic Activation

Message pops up on the desktop "Installation package for sonic activation
module cannot be found, try installation again using 'activate.msi'"
1) I have removed something called sonic from the add remove programs area
2) I searched the start menu by using the command msconfig in the start -
run menu
I have a Dell laptop
Any suggestion help greatly appreciated.

Dvd playing and writing software is Sonic's--My DVD etc. Look at the
Sonic/Roxio web site for more possibilities. What are you going to use to
play and burn dvd's? You could use your installation disk to reinstall. Ask
Dell for all the cd's if you didn't get a disk.

Thanks for your suggestion, it does not seem to relate to the DVD
