Sometimes unable to open Excel attachment - again

Hi,

When I try to open an excel attachment within Outlook, I click on it and
nothing happens if Excel is open. If Excel is not open and I click on
attachment, Excel opens and there is the file.

I don't necessarily want to save the attachment each time; I want it to open
from
Outlook. I'm also not asking about security issues. These are e:mails from
co-workers trying to share work with me.

I did go to this page, which was suggested earlier:
http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/securetemp.htm

I downloaded the tool on this page and ran it, but I still am unable to open
Excel files from Outlook unless Excel is closed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've also replied to your original post, but I admitt; it's a long way down
and harder to track.

Anyway, is this issue just with Excel sheets or also with Word documents?

Yes, I reposted because I got the impression that once a question was
answered, no more responses would show up - even if the answer hasn't worked.

This happens only with Excel. I"m on a PC ~8-10 hours a day, mostly working
in Excel, so I'd love to fix this! My worldwide finance group shares lots of
files via e:mail.

I'm ready to try anything!!! argghh!!!
Thanks.

If it still happens after you cleared the SecureTemp, only with Excel and
unchecked the "ignore ther applications" option in Excel I'm starting to run
out of tricks. I can only think of a corrupted xla template then (holds
settings for Excel sheets). Are you using any add-ins for Excel that could
interfere with it? Also I'm not sure if Excel has a higher security setting
when reading documents from a Temp folder.

You might get better help taking this to an Excel newsgroup.

Good Luck!
