Something is resetting my homepage

Some kind of Adware (i have Lavasoft to deal with this, but it does not seem
to work) or whatever is able to change my homepage from msn.com to something
which comes up as "about:blank". My homepage then becomes some kind of
search page. Along with this "redirector", three programs have inserted
themselves into my computer (Home Search Assistant, Shopping Wizard, Search
Extender) which I cannot remove. When I attempt to remove these programs, I
get a message which says that the uninstall program could not be opened
(http://looking-for.cc/uninstallSearchExtender.html). I went to this web
site and although it "appears" to look legitimate, the uninstall buttons are
inoperative. What do i do to get rid of whatever is on my machine? Norton
antivirus does nothing. Lavasoft removes the redirector, but it returns
shortly after i go online. HELP!!!

Uninstall Lavasoft, it sucks.

Install SpyBot:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
and install all the updates.

After sweeping your computer for adware, set Spybot to Advanced mode. Go to
Tools, and then go through the BHO and delete all browser objects you don't
recognize (if you're like most users, you only want browser objects related
to Google, your antivirus, and Spybot).

Then, do the same for the ActiveX objects. Note that some of the more
stubborn ActiveX spyware objects can't be deleted through the Spybot
interface and have to be removed manually from the registry.
