Someone is using my computer to send spam mail.

I have updated XP Pro, Norton, SpyBot and Webroot to try
to get top security.
But it appears that someone is using my hotmail address
to send spam.
I have been receiveing from DAEMON repeated notices of
items i allegedly sent that could not be delivered. The
address are not deliverable because the addresses
mentioned do not exist. The message from daemon never
says what the message was. I never sent any of them.
The addresses appear to be seriatum addresses,
combinations of names/numbes to sites such as yahoo, aol
and others.
I ran all the anti virus programs, to no avail. Today I
got another list of addresses that I supposedly mailed to
that cannot be delivered because they are not valid
addresses.
Does anyone have any suggestions or explanations??

You likely do not have a virus. You likely do not have a trojan. Someone
else does and that virus/trojan found your email address either in their
email application(s) or in some web page/newsgroup post you made at some
point and that trojan/virus did the rest.

Faking your email address as the sent from/reply to is a simple thing.

.Try using a firewall like Zone Alarm, if there is a
program accessing the internet Zone alarm will alert you
and you. This will give you the name of the program and
allow you to kill it's access to the internet.
