some visited links change color, and some do not

B

Bruce J. Weiers

I have noticed that visited links on some sites, such as E-bay, no
longer change color.

It seems to me that they did for awhile with my new computer, and then
no more.

On other sites, visited links still change color.

Does anyone know why visited links do not change color on some sites,
and if there is anything I can do about it, in terms of changing
Windows/IE6 settings?

Sometimes this is controlled by the web site designer. Visited and
unvisited link can have the same appearance under some conditions. Can you
provide a link to a site that behaves this way, so that others can check and
confirm?

Clear the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the Temporary Internet Files
(folder) be kept at
40-50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.

If still having the same problem then the index may be damaged.
This will create a new one.

Delete/Empty Temporary Internet Cache completely
How To: and with most operating system.
