Colors

When I set the colors for visited and unvisited links in Options>Colors, the
colors do not take. No matter what colors I apply, all internet colors, like
in Google, show only blue.

This is very frustrating when using search engines because I cannot tell
which sites I have already visited.

Is there any solution?

Thanks

Are you running WinXP SP3? Are you running IE6 or IE7?

IE Tools | Internet Options | General | Colors: Is "Use Windows colors"
selected here?

IE Tools | Internet Options | General | Accessibility: Is anything here
checked (enabled)?

Control Panel | Accessibility Options | Display: Make sure that High
Contrast is not checked. Also click on Settings and uncheck Use Shortcut.
That will disable the Alt+Shift+Print Screen shortcut to High Contrast.

If still no joy, your History folder may be damaged. See this archived
reply from an earlier, related thread:

SP3, IE6

Yes, I am using Windows Colors

Accessibility: only "Ignore Font Sizes" is checked

High Contrast is not checked, unchecked Use Shortcut

I tried to delete the history folder but Windows would not let me: "System
File"

Out of luck, I guess. Thanks anyway.

Had you logged in with admin privileges or as Administrator (after rebooting
into Safe Mode) before you attempted to delete History folder? Did you try
using CCleaner? ...or Free History Eraser?

Did you just install SP3?

That's your answer. Check Ignore colors if you always
want to see your color preferences. Otherwise don't
be surprised if web page authors have different ideas
about what is useful. ; )

Good luck

Hey! I am an Auburn University MBA student and doing a research case study on Microsoft usergroups and newsgroups. I was wondering if I could ask you some questions for my case. First, Mr. Dyer, why do you use your time to be an MVP? What is in it for you? To the other users, do you find the usergroups helpful? Would you rather use this than talking to a person? If so, why?

Thanks for any input you have. I do appreciate it.

Hi Walter, My name is Stephanie and I am an MBA student working on a case
study on Microsoft Usergroups and newsgroups. I was wondering if you could
help me with a little field research. I was wondering if you find the groups
helpful? Would you rather talk to a person or is this better for you? Why?

Sorry for the questions but I would appreciate any feedback you have.

Thanks!

Learn how to use a newsgroup. Don't hijack other people's threads..start
your own.
