Some very annoying problems ive been having... can anyone help?

Ok so i just bought a brand new toshiba laptop with windows vista home basic
and deleted all the crap pre installed software. It has 1 gig of ram and i
barely run anything... i literally use Aim, Itunes, and Explorer (not even at
the same time) so i doubt its a ram issue.

When i use explorer, occasionally when I click a link, picture on ebay, or
sometimes just on the page... the explorer window will suddenly change size,
either from full screen to the smaller one... or the smaller one to full
screen. it happens very very often, like once every 5 minutes.

It also does this on AIM... my IM screen will suddenly go full screen just
from me clicking in the text box, and also last night it kept randomly
changing my font back to the default plain arial font...

FN key, will sometimes randomly not work.

Windows media player, also has the randomly changing screen size problem..
just from me clicking on a menu in there the screen will randomly shift sizes.

Does anyone else have these problems? if not... im thinking maybe im having
a problem with my touchpad? or its a vista problem... because i experience
similar problems over multiple programs so im assuming its not the programs.

I've had somewhat similar issues with my HP laptop that seem to be the
touchpad being a tad too touchy. Fortunately, mine has an off switch for
when I'm just typing, or using an external mouse. What does Toshiba say?

I agree it's probably the touchpad. I normally disable mine on my Acer
notebook and use an external mouse. It has the same problem in XP, Longhorn
Server, and Vista. I only use the touchpad when I'm in a location where
there is no way to use an external mouse.
