Some HORM questions...

Timu CHEN

I have built one HORM XPe with EWF RAM type.
There is a small portion of EWF protection data attached right after the end
of my system partition.

My attention was to ghost this work and restore it onto the other hard drive
as a cloning work.
I ghost the entire disk by "disk to image" command, and restore with "disk
from image" command, too.

The restore looks fine, and Xpe boots ok.

However, when I execute "ewfmgr c: -enable" command, it tells me that the
protection data is not there, and there is an error to access this data.

Where is this protection after the ghost restore? Is there anything wrong?

Thanks in advance for any answer.

Timu,

IIRC, there was some problems cloning EWF Config partition on XPe systems. Depending on the version of the ghost software you may
want to try it out with "-IR" switch of ghost when you do the backup.

Or you can delete EWF Config partition just before the cloning.

Also, you don't need EWF Config partition at all if you use EWF RAM Reg mode. Please read SP2 documentation on the subject or search
this NG archive.
