Some files won't Defrag?

George

Would appreciate how to get all files defrag'ed and stop getting the "cannot
defrag" notice.

Am running two PC's on WinXP-professional. One defrag's just fine. The
other keeps coming up with the "some files cannot be defragmented" notice.
(It's not a PageFile problem, I don't think.) When I compare the VIEW
REPORTS from both PC's the only area they are noticably different are:

File fragmentation
Total files = 75,038
Average file size = 299 KB
Total fragmented files = 1
Total excess fragments = 6
Average fragments per file = 1.00

But it does not show WHICH files are staying fragmented. Can someone
suggest how to identify culprits, and get these files defrg'ed. (It's not
so much that they are harming anything, but it's a nuisance getting the
warning message). Thanks, George

You have a program of some type open files that are in use many times cannot
be moved.

You might want to download the free version of OO defrag it works better and
faster than the windows version
