Windows XP
30GB hard drive(2x 15 c/d)

I know that I am missing something.....
I try to defrag my hard drive. defrag runs nomonally and
completes the operation. But everytime I run defrag, it
does not defrag all the files, about 500MB are
fragemented each time. First it was a file with the name
hiberfil.sys. I disabled hibernation and ran defrag
agian. then it jump to another file which is ms maps data
2000. but what is strange is that it is the same file
size as the hiberfil.sys. that I disabeled. I have ran it
about 4 or 5 times. and some times it same files that are
not defraging. some times I get the different files that
are not defraging. I no that I am missing something
simple here. scratching by head..... any help would be
appreciated. Ina addition, it does not matter if I run in
safe mode or not, I still get the same result

Files that are in use by the system willnot be defragged.

I've found that if you go into safe mode before you
defrag, then it will work nicely as a lot of the files
are not in use in that mode.
