software interface language

My laptop came with the Dutch version of XP Pro installed. I know I can't do
anything to change the XP interface language but is there any way I can tell
English software programs not to talk to me in Dutch? For example, I've just
installed Kodak Easyshare software and all the menus etcetera are in Dutch. I
can't find any way of adjusting this from within the Kodak program so I guess
I'm hoping there is some way of telling XP that I want to use English. I
already have the English keyboard chosen and the language bar is showing EN
but still each new program I install uses a Dutch interface.

Hi Robyn,

No can do, it's a limitation of the language support. The software is
relying on certain library files, and they are in Dutch, so that's what you
are going to get. The language support is very limited in that it enables
support for reading and email, but not basic operating system functionality
(which is what you would require).

Yet other programs -- WordPerfect for example and several dictionaries --
don't revert to Dutch. Do they come with their own library files?

Hi Robyn,

Yes, they do. Some software (most larger programs) includes their own
library files, others rely on system-included ones.
