On multiple Dell Computers, the MS SDS2.0 that was automatically
downloaded and applied messed with the monitor's resolution. After
this patch is applied, the resolution is like 640x80 or something
ridiculous like that. In screen properties, you cannot move the slider
bar to change the resolution. It's in 16 bit, and that is also not
changeable. I system restored to the day before SDS2.0, and that
corrected the problem. On one machine, I left auto updates on, and in
a half hour, it had already re-applied this patch, and the monitor was
back to the same low unusable resolution. I have seen many people
having problems with this software, but no one really has had any
solutions yet, aside from turning off updates (which means we will miss
future updates as well). Does anyone know what the problem is here? I
know it's reproducible, because it happened on 5 different machine, and
if I windows update them, I can make it happen again.
Anyone have any suggestions?
TIA!
