So anyone buy a X800 yet?

Well I replace my Video Card once a year, that way the resale value of the
old one good enough to actually get the brand new one less than retail
price... knock off an easy $200.

Actually I work, Gaming Computer my addiction/hobby...

I did like wait 6-8 months to buy what was once a bleeding edge video card
then I found myself selling the old one for like $50-75 at best.. actually
lose money.

I guess it's timing as well.

Depends on how you define "out". If it's released to distributors on May 21
then it's not unreasonable for 4 weeks to elapse before it's physically on
the shelf in a CompUSA, especially if CompUSA has managed to get themselves
assigned a low priority.

They are made in ASIA - for lower costs, they are typically shipped
over Surface (ie: the ocean) and it takes awhile. AIR Freight is
expensive!!

availability or the "Come and get it!" sign which ATI supposedly publicized
or published or made available to somebody somewhere which made the

Actually the web site say that the x800 is part of their "extended
online store" and they would not be available in all stores.

I wouldn't expect them to get more than hand full. They never had more

Yup, its called supply and demand.

If theres short supply and high demand they can charge anything they can get
away with. The rest of us wait for a few weeks and get the cards cheaper or
buy an 9800XT for fire sale prices. The 9800XT is by no means a slouch and are
sure to drop to the $250 range soon.
